My So-Called Essay
Today, I'm going to ask you to get a good perspective on how to do something right by first doing it wrong: as an exercise, I want you to plagiarize your entire essay.
First, open up a Word document. Make sure to save it to your folder on the W drive, because you're going to do more work with it on Thursday.
Next: Google your essay topic, or go to termpapers.com or schoolsucks.com or houseofcheat.com or a plagiarism site of your choice. Skim what you find, and steal the most useful paragraph. Copy and paste it into your Word document, and then copy and paste the URL into your Word document as well. Go to another site, and repeat the process, always making sure to copy the Web address, as well. Repeat until you have an essay; go for a minimum of three sources. You'll have to work fast: I'll give you about five minutes to do the copying and pasting.
Then, for the last 20 minutes of class, I’ll ask you to shift the plagiarized passages around, putting them in logical order, and writing basic transitions between the sections. Make sure to save your work, and we'll come back to this on Thursday.
